Planning estimate
€70
Potential amounts, not a payment promise.
Only your Krankenkasse can confirm the binding cap and any refund.
💼 Statutory vs private line (Versicherungspflichtgrenze) · 2026 figures
Your gross salary decides whether you may leave statutory insurance (GKV) for private (PKV).
Bonus program — TK
Kassen pay CASH for things you'd do anyway. Tick what you already did this year; the rest is open money. Amounts are typical — confirm in the TK app.
Still claimable this year: €70
Program cap: ~€200/year · ×2 (€400) as Gesundheitsdividende · Submit via the Kasse app/portal — most pay within weeks.
Dental booklet (Bonusheft) — your hidden insurance
Dentures/crowns: the Kasse pays 60% of the standard plan. With 5 gapless yearly stamps → 70%. With 10 → 75%. Miss a year and you fall back for years.
5 more gapless year(s) → 70%
On a typical €4,000 treatment plan your booklet is already worth €0 extra subsidy. 10-year tier: ONE missed year can be excused with good reason — ask your Kasse in writing.
Free checkups you're entitled to right now
Statutory prevention (G-BA) — 100% covered, most also earn bonus points:
- • Dental check twice a year (stamp + bonus)
- • Health check-up: once 18–34, every 3 years from 35
Co-payment cap — the 2% rule almost nobody uses
Prescriptions, hospital days, therapies: you co-pay max 2% of yearly gross household income — 1% if chronically ill. Everything above MUST be refunded.
↑ Gross household income/month
Diagnosis-code decoder (ICD)
The cryptic code on your sick note (AU) or doctor letter — e.g. J06.9 G. Type it; we translate the code AND the scary little letters. Decoded locally, nothing sent or stored.
Co-payment-free medicines — keep €5–10 per prescription
Many prescribed drugs have an identical-ingredient alternative that is officially CO-PAYMENT-FREE. The GKV list is updated every two weeks.
- 1. Ask the doctor to prescribe 'zuzahlungsbefreit' or leave aut idem unticked
- 2. At the pharmacy ask: 'Gibt es das zuzahlungsfrei?' — they must tell you
- 3. Check the official list before paying (updated every 2 weeks)
GKV publishes this list as PDF only (usage rights) — so we link the always-current original instead of copying it.
Access fast — the 4 numbers that matter
- Medical service: 116117 — on-call doctor when the practice is closed (non-emergency) + arztsuche.116117.de finds doctors incl. by language
- Emergency: 112 — real emergency, free, ambulance
- Pharmacy: Tonight's open pharmacy: aponet.de emergency-pharmacy search (enter your PLZ)
- Doctor search: Doctor by language: arztsuche.116117.de → filter 'Fremdsprache' (Persian, Arabic, Turkish, Russian…)
Document: Sick note (eAU) is digital: the doctor sends it to Kasse + employer automatically — but you must still TELL your employer on day one.
Hausarzt — your key to the whole system
- • Without a family doctor you wait longer everywhere — referrals (Überweisung) to specialists come from them
- • Finding one taking patients: call in the morning, search arztsuche.116117.de, or ask your Kasse's patient service
- • First visit: bring eGK card, vaccination booklet, medication list
- • They keep your file — bonus forms, checkup stamps and sick notes all run smoother
